1.Creating multiple control files when the database is created.

eg.
CONTROL_FILES = (/DISK1/control01.con,/DISK2/control02.con,/DISK3/control03.con)

2.To add a control file or change the number or location of the control file after the database is created.

A-Shutdown the database
B-Copy the current control file using an operating system command.
C-Add the new (modify) control file names to the CONTROL_FILE parameter.
D-Start up the database.
