Why
are classes important?
In Java, classes are the main organizational
unit of a program. By their very nature classes tend to be self-contained.
This leads to easier management of large projects, and easier maintenance
of the software. You should spend some time thinking about these issues
at the end of this unit (there is a question to that effect in the `reflection'
section).
